Peter provides strategic advice to foundations, individual donors, and nonprofit organizations. An attorney, Peter has served as a senior strategist and director for national grant-making foundations, senior policy advisor in the U.S. House and Senate, Peace Corps Volunteer, and Executive Director of the eco-modernist Breakthrough Institute and the Bay Area’s LGBTQ community foundation. For the William & Flora Hewlett Foundation, the Democracy Funders Network, and the Omidyar Network, Peter has examined the rise of authoritarianism and threats to our democracy. For the Hewlett Foundation, the Bernard and Anne Spitzer Charitable Trust, and the Nathan Cummings Foundation, Peter has designed groundbreaking programs to understand and address climate change and energy poverty.
